El Cortijo Club De Campo Golf Canary Islands
LOCATION:
El Cortijo Club De Campo is located near the city of Telde and only 6.4 kms. from the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on the motorway GC-1, half way to the airport.
DESCRIPTION:
The course has been designed for the celebration of big events. It is a very demanding course with big and fast greens and very long holes from the back tees with plenty of places for t.v. cameras but also bearing in mind the needs of everyday golfers (some holes have up to 6 tee boxes).
El Cortijo Club de Campo is laid out in three valleys with 6 lakes and 600 palm trees. It is beautifully adapted to its natural surroundings while fulfilling another purpose as a suitable venue for prestigious international tournaments. It was created to demand complete concentration by the professional players, there are up to six tees per hole, making enjoyment possible for every level of player.
The fairways have Bermuda 419 which is a type of grass that does not need a lot of water and resists a fair amount of salt in it.
The construction of greens has been done with the demanding quality standards of the USGA, and have been seeded with Providence, a type of Agrostis.
COURSE FACILITIES:
The Course has golf school, practice course, chipping green, putting green, practice bunker as well as offering facilities for the hire of carts, bags and clubs.
